About US

Ready to end the obsession with food and start trusting your body again?

Redefine Wellness is a virtual coaching platform that helps you finally reject diet culture and cultivate a life free of guilt and shame around food and body image.

Redefine Wellness was founded by Melainie Rogers,

Founder & CEO of BALANCE eating disorder treatment center™, one of the most prominent treatment centers in New York City.

Our mission began in February 2018 when Weight Watchers announced they would offer free summer memberships to teens.

As eating disorder professionals, we saw how this program could increase the risk of teens potentially developing eating disorders. Teaching restrictive behaviors to teens can easily damage their relationship to food and their bodies.

Melainie and the team at BALANCE responded by creating the #WakeUpWeightWatchers Twitter campaign. Thousands all over the world joined together to speak out. The #WakeUpWeightWatchers hashtag trended worldwide on Twitter and brought attention to the dangerous teen program; with media coverage in Teen Vogue, The New York Post, Cosmopolitan Magazine, BuzzFeed, the New York Times, and more.

Ultimately, Weight Watchers postponed the launch of the teen program

and we were just getting started
